Product Details
PRODUCT OVERVIEW: The TXHE Series Hazardous Area Emergency Powered Lighting products are designed for use in Class I, Division I hazardous areas. Lighting fixtures and exit fixtures are available for mounting directly to the housing or can be remotely mounted.
CONSTRUCTION: Heavy duty, copper-free cast aluminum housing with screw-on cover. Housing is suitable for NEC Class I, Divisions 1 or 2, Groups C and D and Class II, Divisions 1 or 2, Groups E, F and G environments. Lighting fixtures for the unit and for remotely mounted fixtures utilize heavy duty, copper-free cast aluminum housings with a high strength glass lens. Fixtures are suitable for NEC Class I, Divisions 1 or 2, Groups C and D and Class II, Divisions 1 or 2, Groups E, F and G environments. The exit fixtures are constructed with heavy duty steel finished in white baked-on powder paint providing scratch and corrosion resistance. Exit stencil face features removable directional arrows and glass diffuser.
ILLUMINATION: Optional lighting fixtures and exit signs are available for attachment directly to the unit housing or for operation remotely. Fixtures may be specified for use with bayonet base incandescent, bi-pin halogen or compact fluorescent lamps.
BATTERY TECHNOLOGY: Sealed pure lead maintenance free battery designed to provide many years of dependable service.
INSTALLATION: Units are designed for mounting by means of external ears on the rear of the housing. Surface wiring is provided for by a conduit entry in the top of the unit housing.
ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Charger Type: Fully automatic, temperature compensating, variable rate float charger
Utility Input: 120/277VAC, 60 Hz.
Power Consumption: 15 watts (maximum)
Temperature Range: 68ºF to 86ºF (20ºC to 30ºC)
Recharge Duty Cycle: 24 hours
Load Transfer: 6 volt models rated 25 watts or less and 12 volt models rated 50 watts or less utilize a solid state transfer circuit for load connection. All other models utilize mechanical relays for load transfer and provide fused
DC load connections.
Controls: Combination momentary test switch and AC-On indicator light
Safety Circuitry:
AC Lockout: Prevents battery discharge prior to initial unit power-up saving installation time.
Low Voltage Battery Disconnect: Protects the battery from being severely damaged by deep discharge during prolonged power failures.
DC Overload and Short Circuit Protection: On units with solid state transfer, output protection is provided by a disconnect circuit that automatically resets itself when the fault condition is corrected. On units with mechanical relay transfer, output protection is provided by fused load connections. See Load Transfer above for details.
Brownout Protection: Automatically switches the unit to emergency mode when utility voltage is reduced to the point at which most fluorescent light fixtures would extinguish.
CODE COMPLIANCE: All models are UL924, UL1203, UL1604, UL844 Listed and meet NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NEC, OSHA, Local and State Codes.
