PRODUCT OVERVIEW: The LPEM Series Recessed Emergency Light is a high-capacity recessed lighting unit with a high-end aesthetic appeal. The LPEM features an ultra low profile design and maintenance free Sealed Lead Acid or Nickel Cadmium battery options. The LPEM is made from 20-gauge steel and ABS Thermoplastic. Installs into both suspended ceilings and drywall surfaces. The LPEM is available in a white or black finish with multiple lamp head options.


CONSTRUCTION: Backbox constructed of 20 gauge galvanized steel with 1/2” conduit knockouts. Faceplate constructed of impact resistant, UL 94 V-0, 5 VA white thermoplastic. (6 volt units only) 12 Volt units utilize a 12 gauge steel trim plate with a durable powder-coat finish in white or black.


ILLUMINATION: Illumination is provided by two adjustable lamp heads. Choose from round or rectangular thermoplastic heads with Par 36 sealed beam tungsten or halogen, or wedge base tungsten or halogen lamps.



BATTERY TECHNOLOGY: Choice of maintenance-free, sealed lead calcium or maintenance-free, sealed nickel cadmium batteries. Maintenance-free, sealed lead calcium battery has an estimated service life of 5 years, and an operating temperature range of 65°F (19°C) to 85°F (30°C). Maintenance-free, sealed nickel cadmium battery has an estimated service life of 10 years, and an operating temperature range of 20°F (-7°C) to 95°F (35°C). Nickel cadmium batteries are ideal for high ambient temperature areas. Batteries supply 90 minutes of emergency power.


INSTALLATION: Fully recessed assembly for ceiling or wall installation. An optional bar hanger kit is available for mounting in suspended ceilings.

Temperature Range: With sealed lead calcium battery temp. range of 65°F (19°C) to 85°F (30°C); with sealed nickel cadmium battery temp range of 20°F (-7°C) to 95°F (35°C).

Load Transfer: All models utilize mechanical relays for load transfer and provide fused DC load connections.
Controls: Momentary test switch and LED AC-On indicator light
Safety Circuitry: AC Lockout: Prevents battery discharge prior to initial unit power-up saving installation time.
Low Voltage Battery Disconnect: Protects the battery from being severely damaged by deep discharge during prolonged power failures. DC Overload and Short Circuit Protection: Provided by fused output connections. Brownout Protection: Automatically switches the unit to emergency mode when utility voltage is reduced to the point at which most fluorescent light fixtures would extinguish.


CODE COMPLIANCE: UL 924 listed NFPA 101, NEC, BOCA, OSHA and IBC illumination standards, complies with state and local codes.
